"Wake every day with a WINGED HEART and give thanks for another day of LOVING." (Khalil Gibran)

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Hi everyone.

A long overdue "hello" to everyone. First I want to thank all of you who have left comments and also such wonderful emails. You are all a blessing to me and I am very thankful for each one of you.

I'm gradually getting my strength back, but it's returning at a very slow pace. I'm not able to do too much in the way of creating as I am having to take pain medicine as it is prescribed...which I usually don't do because it makes me groggy and unable to concentrate. Sometimes I just feel so sad, lonely and useless. It's really hard not to give up, even though I have a lot to live for. My niece is due in September and I'll have another little one to spoil along with my other great-neices and great-nephews...I have friends and family who care and some who even love me...and I still have my wits about me most days. Still, I seem to be struggling just to find the strength to keep pushing on. Most days, I feel like I'm crawling uphill on a mountain of sand. It seems a vicious cycle: when my pain stays bad, the depression worsens and when my depression is bad, my pain worsens. I go to the doctor tomorrow and I'm going to ask to have my depression medicine changed. I've been on Celexa for about six or seven years and I think either I've become used to it, or some of the newer medicines I'm on makes it less efficacious.

I'm sorry that I'm on such a downer right now and don't have freebies for you. I really am trying to get back in the swing of things. I really NEED to for my own self-worth. It pleases me greatly to design for all of you. In the meantime, please keep me in your prayers and send me good thoughts. Even if I don't respond to each one of you personally, know that your kind words uplift me and fill me with warmth...even if just for a while.

Love to all of you,
Sally

Just a note...

Hi everyone. Thanks for your emails and comments. I'm sorry to worry any of you with my absence. Gals, the truth is that I'm really struggling to get from one day to the next and I feel guilty if I post here when I don't have a freebie for you. My health issues are really getting me down. If I take enough pain meds so that I'm not in excruciating pain, I find that my creativity really suffers. It's hard to concentrate. Each day my depression seems to get a stronger hold on me but I am really trying to keep my head above water. Please, keep me in your prayers and I hope to be back soon with a little something for you all.

Blessings,
Sally

I've been tagged again & again!!!

WELL!!! Not one, nor two, not even three...but FOUR people have tagged me. It's taken a while for me to respond, but here goes. Here's how it goes:

1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Both Dawn and Lynn from the Flight Crew tagged me first (SHAME on you girls!!!). LOL Then I was tagged in a comment by Kori. Naughty girl! THEN, as if three times wasn't enough, I was tagged by Catt from Cattscrapps. Bad Catt! Now, it's serious Gals! ROFLMBO

Here's my seven weird and random facts:

1. My favorite sandwich is peanut butter and tomatoes on white toast.
2. I used to play the violin.
3. I try NEVER to enter a room first when I'm entering with other people.
4. I hate the heat and enjoy being cold.
5. I am the clumsiest and most uncoordinated person you could imagine!
6. The fastest I've ever typed on a test is 132 words per minute!
7. I know exactly where I was conceived!

I guess I should explain the last one! My mother and father were only intimate one time when she became pregnant...and it was under the roller coaster at a local amusement park, Meyers Lake (which is no longer there). I blamed her always for the many ups and downs in my life!!! HA HA HA!

Now I'm supposed to tag seven people, but it seems this has really made the rounds. I'm going to tag Patti and then hunt for six other people who haven't been tagged yet. I'll add them as I find them! LOL

Sooooo, Patti...you're it!!!!

Thanks ladies...I still love 'ya all!! MWAH!

Sally

Layout Share & a Quick Page

Good Wednesday to all of you! Hope everything is okay in your corner of the world. I also hope none of you are affected by the flooding in the central plains but if you are, know that I'm praying for you and yours; and I ask all of you to keep everyone affected in your prayers and thoughts, also.

I have received a beautiful layout from Sharon, aka Scrapcat, using my Victorian Mother's Day Kit. Here it is:

Thanks so much, Sharon, it's a terrific layout and your Mom has such a wonderful smile! For sending me her layout, she'll receive the Victorian Father's Day Mini Kit! To receive your Father's Day kit, just send me your layout using the Mother's Day kit to wingedheartohio@gmail.com!

Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful comments at 4Shared. It's always very satisfying to read them and gives me a thrill every time! Also, a HUGE "thank you" to all of you who have signed my new guest book. I love seeing where everyone is from and hope some of you will leave pictures of yourself!

The Flight Crew is busy, busy, busy! Lynn left such a pretty layout in the guest book! Check it out. Lynn, would you please send me the layout via email? I'll post it so we can see it larger? Seems my eyesight is going to the dogs! Also, Patti made a freebie quick page just for you! Here it is:

You can snag it here. Thanks bunches, Patti. It's a beaut! Please leave her a hug if you download...pretty please?!?!?

Besides the Father's Day Kit, I'm working on a running/track & field kit and a summer kit. Lynn, from the Flight Crew, just returned from vacation and had an experience with SHARKS! Woo Hoo! I've never made a kit using my original art, but I'm going to make the summer kit "doodly" and draw some fish and sharks, etc. We shall see how it turns out. I might even include a mermaid, one of my faves! I'm always open to kit suggestions so let me know what you are interested in and I'll do my best to oblige.

Patti and I are going to an all-day crop this weekend. Hooray! As much as I love digital scrapping, I really do enjoy paper scrapping. We've never been to scraps held by this person but it's a real steal of a deal. She's having prizes, etc. and is supplying the food for the whole day...and is only charging $10.00 a person. I can't wait! Now all I have to do is get ready for it. Hopefully I won't fall the night before like I did when I went to the last crop! Keep your fingers crossed, will 'ya huh?

Stay safe and keep checking back for more quick pages and more freebies! Love and appreciate all of you bunches!

Blessings, as always,
Sally

Want a Victorian Father's Day Mini Kit?

Hey there, everyone. Boy it was hard to find Victorian images picturing men and children! I found enough to make a mini kit honoring Father's Day. Would you like to have it? To receive the kit (preview will follow soon), just send me a layout using my Victorian Mother's Day Kit and the Victorian Father's Day Kit will be yours! Send either the page or a link to download the page to wingedheartohio@gmail.com. Make sure you include your name (or scrapping handle). I'll feature a few of them on my blog and ALL of them will be included in a special slideshow in the sidebar of my blog! I sure hope to see yours!! Of course, the layout doesn't have to be a Mother's Day layout, just one using the kit.

I will email you the Father's Day Kit download link to the email address used to send your page to me. Hope to see your creation!

All the best,
Sally

At Last!! Mother's Day Is Finished

Hi everyone. I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. I am SO very happy to be finished with the Mother's Day Kit, have it uploaded, and ready for all of you. I swear, the last few weeks have terribly difficult! I feel like I have truly struggled with creating this kit, but I am pleased with the results. I hope you are also.

I had decided to try releasing the kit portions at a time but that proved to not be a viable option for me. I never know when I'm up to posting or creating, so it is just not going to work. Please disregard the previous downloads and download the whole kit using the links in this post. Sorry if this causes any confusion. Please forgive the temporary insanity!! LOL

Here are the previews:

You may download the kit here.

Don't forget to download Dawn's QP in the previous post. While I used quite a few designer resources in the creation of this kit, I especially want to thank Royanna Fritschmann for her wonderful commercial use items. She's so very talented. Make sure you check out her blog.

Many blessings to you and yours. Please keep me in your prayers!

More Flight Crew Layouts

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing well! Here are some more layouts the Flight Crew made using my Victorian Mother's Day kit, which I have been giving you as Freebies for stopping by my blog.

First we have another by Patti. This is the same little girl that is pictured in the first layout she made, but a few months older. Isn't it just so precious? Our friend Amy sent her the photos and gave Patti her permission to use them. Amy had named the photo "My Little Diva" so that is what Patti titled the LO. Thank you Patti for sharing your layout. Here it is:

Next we have two layouts by Lynn. She is one of my new CT members, and these are her first layouts for me. I couldn't be happier with them! Thanks bunches, Lynn! Here they are:

And, for your scrapping pleasure, here is beautiful quick page made by my other new CT member, Dawn. Just love it!!! Big thanks and kudos to you, Dawn! Here's the preview and you can download it here.

Well have a wonderful evening and thank you for visiting here with me today. Check back later this evening or tomorrow for the rest of the Victorian Mother's Day kit. I HATE this piecemeal stuff so you're getting everything left at one time!!! Gee, hope you don't mind! LOL

Blessings,
Sally

More Victorian Mother's Day

Good evening all. Wow did I have a scare today! As always, Patti takes me to the bank and out to do some running around on payday (my Social Security check comes on the 3rd). To thank her, I always treat us to lunch and/or dinner depending on how long we are out. Well, the day went like this:

First we went to the credit union, which went perfectly fine. We went through the drive-up window and it made me feel so good that the clerk recognized me and didn't even ask my name or account number, even though I'm in the passenger's seat and leaning across the car so she can see me! It is a wonderful feeling to have a place of business remember who you are in this day and age of such apathy and rudeness. All the tellers are so sweet and kind, calling you by name and always with a smile. It's a great place to do my banking. Feeling on a high, we went to lunch at Sukho, the Thai restaurant I talked about on my birthday. Well, here starts the problem...it's not open until 4 PM on Monday and Tuesday and we were there at about 11 o'clock. Now, I KNEW this but, obviously, forgot. SHAME on me!! We talked about what we should do and since there is a Chinese buffet next door, we went there. Oh my, was that a mistake. We were seated and picked out our food, most of which looked okay and there was a huge selection. I took my pills, we said grace, and then started to eat. Bite after bite, it tasted worse and worse. The restaurant was full and no one else seemed to have issues but neither one of us liked the food at all. On top of not tasting good, it was cold! Soooooo we decided to leave and figured after we did a bit of shopping, we'd go to one of our favorite hangouts for fried green tomatoes and fresh Strawberry Shortcake.

We then went to a card and party shop and I was only able to walk around a very short time, which was okay because neither one of us found a thing we wanted to buy. After that we went to the Dollar Tree. As before, I only could walk around a few aisles so I took Pat's keys to go to the car while she finished shopping and checked out our stuff. (What would I ever do without this woman?!?) I was feeling shaky, sweaty, flushed and VERY weak. By the time I got out of the store and to the car, I knew something was seriously wrong. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to unlock the car. I was so very confused! Thank God there are still nice people in this world because a young woman came and asked me if I was okay. I told her, "no" and she took the keys from me and opened the door and helped me get in. As this was was far beyond my normal reaction to walking and standing, I did figure out that I should check my blood sugar. It was quite a shock to find out it was 41!!!! For those of you who don't know, that is truly dangerously low. This wonderful person took out a peanut butter cup and a bag of Werther's caramels from her bag and had me chomp away. She and the group she was with were all nursing students...how ironic! She stayed with me until they had to go and I convinced her I was going to be okay. Pat has been a diabetic for over fifty years and I knew I would be in good hands when she came out. And I was right. She went to Wendy's next door and purchased a regular soda for me. As I drank it and all the sugar kicked in, I started to feel a bit better but definitely needed to eat. We proceded to the restaurant and had wonderful fried green tomatoes and strawberry shortcake.

This incident taught me an important lesson...make sure you like the food well enough to eat it BEFORE you take your diabetes medication!!! As always happens when your blood sugar bottoms out and you have to raise it fast with sugar, I was totally exhausted. Patti got me home, helped me upstairs and made me promise not to go to bed until I knew that my sugar didn't rebound too high, which can sometimes be a problem. When I knew I was going to be okay, I went to bed until I woke up with all of you on my mind and decided to get up and give you the next links for my Mother's Day kit.

For being so patient and reading my LONG story above, I'm rewarding you with TWO downloads today! Mwah! So, without further ado, here you go:

The first download contains framed elements featuring vintage images of mothers and children, and even a grandmother! Here's the preview:

The second download is full of wonderful butterflies. Here's the preview:

CT Announcement & Update

Hi everyone. First, let me say a huge "THANK YOU" to all of you who sent me e-cards, emails and left comments. I really appreciate all of you taking the time to let me know you care! Mwah! I'm doing better...not wonderful but better!

I'm finishing up the Mother's Day kit and am going to release it even if it is rather late. I guess it's better late than never. It's definitely not as large as the rest of my kits, nor as large as I wanted it to be, but I think it will be useful anyway. Check back tomorrow, it should be finished and posted.

Now, on to the announcement! Joining Patti on my Creative Team, please welcome LYNN and DAWN! I am so excited that both of them have accepted positions on the Flight Crew! I just know that there are wonderful things to come!! And...drum roll...here they are:

LYNN

Please welcome Lynn! Here is her introduction:

"I am a stay-at-home mom/wife/stepmom. I homeschool my two sons. I have a bachelor's degree in Education, with a specialization in Reading and a minor in Fine Art. I have several different creative outlets, including writing, soaping, doll-making, gardening, and scrapping (of course!). I have been digi-scrapping for almost a year now. I would describe my style as eclectic. I love all things vintage & grungy. Yet, I'm drawn to other styles as well. I like the challenge of using a style that might, at first, seem outside of my comfort zone."

Check out her blog here, and here is her layout using my Suffrage Kit:

DAWN

Please welcome Dawn! Here is her introduction:

"Hi, I'm Dawn! I live in a suburb of Toledo, Ohio, and just turned 30 on May 7th. Other than digi scrapping, I co-run a gaming league on pogo.com. When I am not on the computer, I am at church. I am extremely involved at my home church doing all the media-related stuff. I volunteer at the church office twice a week, helping out wherever needed. One thing that perhaps makes me unique in regard to digital scrapbooking is that I am legally blind. Because of that, I am on disability and unable to work (that goes along with a wide gamut of other health problems). I feel that being visually impaired should not necessarily have to limit what I am able to do. Sure, it may take a little longer than usual to complete a layout, but I feel that the end result is comparable to other layouts that are out there. Now granted - I am rather new to the world of scrapbooking digitally, but I think I am getting the hang of it. I learn very fast, and love a challenge. I am so thrilled that Sally has decided to take a chance on this newbie, and I hope to get to know all of you better in the months to come!!!"

Check out her blog here, and here is her layout using my Eileen B. kit:

I also asked Patti to create an introduction layout since many of you weren't around when she was officially introduced. So, here she is:

PATTI

Patti's been with me from the beginning and, not only is she a great source of inspiration, my biggest cheerleader, and the best of friends, she is the kindest and sweetest person you could ever hope to meet! Here is her introduction:

Hello, my name is Patti and I live in N.E. Ohio. I am a stay at home wife, between us we have five children that are now adults and six grandchildren, five girls and one boy. I am a sinner saved by grace and am living by His grace every moment of my life. My purpose in life is to glorify God in all that I do. Half of my working years I worked as a professional Floral Designer and when I retired I ask God to give me another creative passion where I could express my love of designing and two years later I was passionately designing paper and digital scrapbook layouts. After I met Sally, I got her hooked on paper scrapping and she later discovered the digital scrapbook community and got me hooked on digital scrapping. My life evolves around God, family then Scrapbooking! Well thats my life and I am sticking to it!
Hugs

Check out her blog here, and here is her layout using my Eileen B. Kit:

There you go! Thanks to everyone who applied and, who knows, I may be adding additional members in the future. Until that time, I am so happy to have Patti, Dawn, and Lynn on my FLIGHT CREW!!!

Blessings to all of you,

Checking in, an Apology, and a Prayer Request

Hi everyone. So sorry it's been so long since I've written. I'm really struggling with my health issues. I have been trying a new medication regimen that the doctor gave me to control the pain I have from my back and my messed up chest. To be honest, I'd really rather just try to tough it out, but the level of pain I have been having has started affecting my blood sugar and my blood pressure. I have to confess that I didn't believe the doctor was right when he said how much harm it was causing me but I now know he was correct. I started taking the additional dosages of the narcotic medications I take regularly, and my blood sugar lowered as the pain level became more manageable. The problem with this is that I feel like a zombie all the time. Yes, I'm in less pain, but what good is that if I can't function? Some of the pain is coming from my ventral hernia and I know it needs operated on, the doctor told me this, but I can't even begin to tell you how I feel about having a fourteenth surgery! The additional narcotics are also messing up my stomach and aggravating my colon issues. I am SOOOOOO darned uncomfortable!

I'm having such a hard time emotionally dealing with this, as well as wrapping my head around what this means for my future. With all this confusion and depression, my creative mojo has gone out the window! I feel so guilty that I haven't finished the Mother's Day kit I was working on. Mother's Day is very hard for me anyway. Most of you already know my Dear Mother has been gone for more than ten years, and my stepmother just past away this year. What I wouldn't give to have my Mom to talk to about what is happening to me. I feel that I have already lost so much of my life, but that I've been able to hold on to some of what makes "me" me. A big part of that is my creativity. I HATE it when I don't have the creative juices flowing in me!

Please forgive me if it sounds like I'm whining. I'm really rather distraught and even little things have become hard for me to handle these days. I know that with God's help and with all of your support, I'll get back on track but please, PLEASE, keep me in your prayers.

I promise I'll be back with some freebies soon, as well as a wonderful announcement about my new Creative Team members! I'm just waiting for confirmation that they accept the positions and I will introduce you to them. Thanks to everyone who applied; I'm touched you feel my work is good enough. I may be adding more team members in the future, but for right now, I have chosen two wonderful women to join Patti.

Again, I'm sorry I haven't had any freebies for you lately and I ask for your prayers and good thoughts. Geesh, I really could use a hug right now!!!

Blessings to you all,
Sally

Introducing La-La

Okay...this is really for my sister, Darlene, who bought me my Webkinz Puppy and "complained" that I didn't have a picture of my doggy on my website yet! ROFLMBO So, without further ado, here is La-La!

There 'ya go, Dar! Now my La-La is famous!!! I named her after a Swahili nursery rhyme I learned when in a choir while living in Chicago. La la mtoto la la!

New Fishinmom Layouts

3/13/15 UPDATE:  If anyone is seeing this, I am so sad to report that my sister, Susan (on the left) passed away in January of 2014 from breast cancer.  She had never had a mammogram and never took care of herself.  The radiation and chemo destroyed her heart.  She was so tiny, only 4' 6 1/2" tall.  It's still so hard to think of her as passed away.  She had five kids and 7 grandchildren, most very young.  There's another one on the way now and her daughter is having a hard time being pregnant with a child her mother will never know.

Hi everyone. Hope all of you are doing great! I'm okay but still sore after having a nasty fall last Saturday. Can't seem to stay on my feet these days! Boo Hoo! LOL

Here's two new layouts I made with Fishinmom's Seabreeze Cottage kit which is available in her store. The first is me (in the middle) with my sisters Darlene and Susan. The second is my niece, Leilani, quite some time ago. She is growing up so very fast! Hope you see this, my Sweet Leilani! I miss you and love you lots!

I really like that her kits are so versatile. You can get so many "looks" from just one kit! Go check her out!

Blessings,
Me

Would you like to be on my Creative Team?

I would really like to add at least two people to my creative team. I'd like someone who can make quick pages, and others to do layouts. Both people would receive all my kits for free. Please apply before May 10th. Requirements would be as follows:

Quick Page Member: Minimum of two quick pages for each kit I create, more for larger kits. Quick pages would be offered on my blog as freebies with credit given to you, of course.

Layout Member: Two layouts for each kit I create. Upload the layouts to three galleries of your choice and your blog.

That's it! Since I'm not really a prolific designer, the time commitment would not be great. I would like to do some special projects with my Creative Team in the future, but they would be voluntary.

If you are interested, please email me at wingedheartohio@gmail.com. Please put "CT Call" in the subject line. Tell me a little about yourself, why you would like to join my team, and which position you are applying for. Also, please give me links to your current galleries and your blog if you have one.

I hope to hear from YOU!!

Blessings,
Sally

Fun Blog I Found

Hi everyone. Through Stone Accent Studios, I discovered a really fun and entertaining blog. It's called "Chronicles of Nani." Nani knows how to write a post with humor and makes them very interesting! I just spent quite a bit of time there. She also has freebies! Check her out...I know I'm very happy I did!

Congratulations to Patti!

My Creative Team member, Patti (Patti-Whack Scraps) is now a member of Fishinmom Designs Creative Team!!!! I'm so proud of my digital scrapping protege!!!! As some of you already know, Patti is the one who got me into paper scrapbooking and after I took the leap to digital, I taught her how to use Paint Shop Pro and got her into digital also! She's such a wonderful person and a fantastic, loyal, and loving friend! I couldn't be happier for her! Way to go, my friend!

Woo Hoo!

I had the most wonderful birthday yesterday! When I first got up, I checked my email and read all the greetings from the MANY sites I belong to...and even received some gifts of page kits! It was so cool! I also received some fun phone calls, emails and ecards from my family and friends. To my sister, Darlene, and one of my very "bestest" friends, Debra.....yeah, I know, I'm a year older than you now!! You just had to rub it in, didn't you!!! ROFLMBO Just remember it won't last long! Ha Ha Ha!

Then Patti took me to a Thai restaurant that I've been wanting to go to since it opened a little over a year ago. Oh my, oh my! It was absolutely wonderful. I had the golden bowl which comes in a clay pot over a burner and has shrimp, chicken, and scallops with veggies in just a fantastic sauce. Patti had duck with veggies and cashews. We both just loved our choices. Then there was the Thai iced tea that I really, really like. Of course since there is a lot of real cream in it it is definitely not diet! LOL I have had Thai food many times but this was a first for Patti. We had just the sweetest waitress and there were some really nice women at the table across from us celebrating one of their birthdays, too. We had a very nice conversation. The restaurant is well decorated and quite beautiful. From the outside it looks quite small but there are three rooms and a truly beautiful bar area with lots of dark wood. Here's a picture of me and Patti that our waitress took for us:

I couldn't resist this elephant! There were two; on either side of the door.

We took other pictures, but I'll share them when they are scrapped. Actually, I might just make a kit from the ones of the decor. We'll see! It's funny, everywhere I go I see scrapbooking possibilities!!

After lunch we went to Pat Catan's for scrapbooking goodies. I tried to make it through the scrapbooking department without having to sit down, but that didn't work. Boo Hoo. I had to sit a few times and felt pretty rough when we left. I get so frustrated. I really wish they had scooters like Walmart, Target and Joann Etc. does. My mind says "go" but my body says "whoa, there!" After that, we went to Patti's house and waited for her hubby and my friend, David, to come home from work so I could say, "Hi" to him, then she brought me home. On the way we stopped at the store so I could get milk and bread. Like a silly fool, I went in. By the time I got home, I was spent. It was a good thing my wheelchair was down in the lobby or I'm not sure I would have been able to get upstairs to my apartment. I was in a lot of pain and ended up spending the whole night playing on the computer because I couldn't get my body to relax enough to lay down.

When it got to be morning, God showed me this beautiful sunrise:

I took this picture off of my 5th floor balcony. It was so incredible. I sat and watched it for a while then, finally, went to bed at about 8 o'clock this morning.

Well, that was my birthday! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and I'll be back soon with a new freebie for you!

Blessings,
Sally

Oops!

Well, not only am I regressing into childhood again, my memory is going also!!! LOL I forgot to thank all of you who left such nice comments at 4Shared about my Berlin Lake background papers! I appreciate each and every one of you taking the time to let me know you aprpeciate and like them!!! Mwah!!!

Checking In & Layout Share

Hi everyone. Thought I would check in and let you know what I'm up to! LOL I'm starting work on a Victorian Mother's Day kit. It won't be as huge as the other holidays, but I think it's coming together pretty good! If I do say so myself (humbly, of course!!!)!! I've been creating layouts using Fishinmom's kits since I'm now on her Creative Team. Her latest kit in the store is "Lilac Papillon." It's so pretty and versatile. Here's a layout I made from it for Patti from my Creative Team. It's her and her Aunt Bessie. I just love the picture of Bessie laughing. I can almost hear her!!

Fishinmom also has a cool freebie kit on her blog right now called "I Wanna Be a Cowboy." Go fetch it!! LOL

It's a beautiful day here in NE Ohio today. Cool (54 degrees right now) but bright sun...good for the spirits.

Guess what?? My sister, Darlene, bought me a Webkinz for my birthday (it's Friday). Now, mind you, I'm going to be 56 years old, but I am thrilled with it!! ROFLMBO!!!! It's a really cute and soft Cocker Spaniel. I named her La-La after a Swahili nursery rhyme I learned when I was in a choir in Chicago. I went to the site and felt like a little kid again playing with the online version of La-La!! Oh my, I do believe I am regressing into childhood again!!!

Well, I'm going to let you go and get back to working on the Mother's Day kit. BTW, I'm also working on a running/jogging kit so Patti can scrap her husband's (David, who is also my friend) memorabilia from his runs. He finished a half-marathon not too long ago. I am in awe!!!! Of course, it will be here on my blog!

Blessings to you and yours, as always,
Sally

Background Paper Freebie

Good evening everyone...that is if it's evening where you are! LOL Last year Patti and I went on a scrapbook retreat and passed by Berlin Lake. It was a beautiful day so we stopped and took some photographs. I made these two backgrounds to use to scrap photographs of our trip. I thought I would share them with all of you. Here's the preview:

You can get them here.

Enjoy!

Blessings, as always,
Sally

More Fishinmom Layouts!

Hi everyone. Here's some layouts using Fishinmom's Eggtastic Heritage Add-on Kit and her Dinosaur Stomp Kit.

The Easter picture is my great-nieces and great-nephews having an Easter egg hunt -- over 700 eggs for four kids! LOL They were plastic, of course!! In the eggs were slips of paper with different things on them like amounts of money, candy and my favorite which had "sorry about your luck" written on it! ROFLMBO The yard looked like an egg factory but there were some eggs that were really well hidden. Of course, these were the "better" eggs! I had a great time watching the kids run all over the place to find the eggs, then opening them all and collecting their goodies. Great fun! Here's that layout:

This layout is Taylor and Little Wes (another great-niece and great-nephew) at last year's Football Hall of Fame parade in Canton, Ohio (my hometown). The dinosaur balloon was huge and a little scary for the youngsters! Just look at those teeth!

And this is another of little Wes:

Oh, by the way, the Eggtastic Heritage Add-On is on sale right now for just 75 cents and the Dinosaur Stomp is on sale for $2.00. Run on over and grab them while they are on sale!

Blessings,
Sally

Layout Share for Fishinmom Designs

Hi again. Here's my first two layouts as a member of the Fishpond, Fishinmom's Creative Team. They were made with "Eggtastic" which is on sale now for just $2.00! It's a wonderfully bright and festive kit, and there are two great add-on's also that are available.

I spent Easter with my sister and brother-in-law (Darlene & Bob), nieces (Karyn & Kelly), great-nephews (Dominic & Skyler) and great-nieces (Desiree & Karli). It was a wonderful day filled with fun, good food and, best of all, lots of love! Here's the layouts:

Thanks for looking and remember to rush right over to Fishinmom's new store to see all her great kits!

Blessings,
Sally

Introducing Patti Whack Scraps

Hi again! I keep forgetting to mention that my creative team member, Patti, now has her own blog site. It's called Patti Whack Scraps. She's got pictures of her layouts and much more!

Here's the header I created for her from pictures of her early spring crocuses and her garden angel:

Click HERE to go visit. If you do, please leave her a hug. This is the first time she's done anything like this so she needs some encouragement and a few pats on the back!!! It's been so cute watching how excited she is! Thanks!!

Patti, I really appreciate all your support and your friendship. It's been a thrill to watch you blossom just like your crocuses!!

As always, blessings,
Sally

Hi There and Many Thanks!

Thank you so much for the wonderful comments left here and on 4Shared regarding the Easter kit. I know everyone is busy but you wouldn't believe how motivated and encouraged I get from the simple "thank you's" left. It really makes me want to create and share more and more!

How's everyone doing? I've mostly had a good couple days. My niece, Denise, who is expecting, has agreed to allow me to throw her a baby shower in August and I'm really psyched! I can't wait to find out if she's having a little girl or a little boy. Of course, her little girl wants a baby sister and her little boy wants a baby brother!! LOL

Also, I found out that a group I paper scrap with is having a crop the end of April and I can't wait!! There's a bunch of my friends and family going, including my CT member, Patti, my stepsister, and three of my nieces! We should have a real blast. I don't know if I'll make it for all 12 hours, but I'm sure going to give it a go! Then, today, I found out that my 12 year old niece, Candy, brought home all A's and one B on her report card! Go girl! I'm really proud of you!! Here's a picture of her with my great-niece, Taylor. It was taken this past Christmas...in case you can't tell from the reindeer ears! LOL

I have another wonderful thing happening but I can't tell you all yet...the announcement will come soon! All I can say is that I'm going "fishing!" I know, tease...tease!!! LOL

I'm working on a kit that I absolutely love. It's a vintage kit inspired by the women's suffrage movement in several countries. So far, I've found images from England, the Netherlands, Australia and, of course, the US. While it is a theme kit, the papers, ribbons, etc. are suitable for many other uses. I'm also going to make sure there are a couple elements suitable to commemorate those who are voting for the first time this year. It's coming along nicely and I should have it up over the weekend if all goes well. It will be a kit for sale but there will be a freebie sampler.

The only thing that isn't so good is that I went to the doctor today and he feels it is time for my chest to be surgically repaired again; that we have reached the point where the benefits outway the risks. I'm pretty mortified at the thought of a 14th surgery, but I know I'll get through whatever comes with faith and the friendship, good thoughts, and prayers of those around me...including all of you!

Well, I don't have much else to say tonight (or should I say this morning!). I'll have that announcement for you soon and check back this weekend for the Women's Suffrage sampler freebie.

Blessings and prayers,
Sally

ps Don't forget that I'd love to see layouts you create with my kits!

Victorian Easter Quick Page Album & Freebies

Whew! My Computer's All Better! That was scary! My computer was barely functioning. I ran my virus checker but it didn't find anything so I had an online chat with HP and, after about an hour of checking this and that with them, they said it had to be a virus. I ran several online checkers and still found nothing. Then I decided to download free and trial versions of other ones and, lo and behold, the third program I downloaded found two viruses buried deep in my computer! It was able to get rid of them and now everything is back to normal...the computer that is, not me!!! LOL

I want to thank Patti for posting for me while my computer was "sick." Ha Ha. We have created a 12 page Easter Quick Page Album and two freebie Quick Pages just for all of you! The Album is for sale at $4.00...that's less than 35 cents per page! Here's the previews of the album:

To purchase the album, please send $4.00 by Paypal or Revolution Money Exchange (see post below) to wingedheartohio@gmail.com Once I receive confirmation of payment, you will be sent the links via email within 24 hours. Thanks!

Now, here'a preview of the two freebie quick pages you can snag!

You can get the freebies here.

I hope you enjoy the freebies and that you will consider purchasing the album. Your support would be much appreciated and I'd love to hear from you!

As always, blessings to you and yours,
Sally

Introducing my Creative Team Member "Patti"

Hello everyone, I am so excited that Sally has asked me to be one of her CT Members! Yeah!! I love her designs and she has such a giving heart that she gives most things as freebies so I know you like to check in often to get all the freebies! She has just recently begun to sell some kits and add-ons to help her finance buying commercial use design supplies to create with. Thank you for being such a blessing to her with your purchases and all your comments! She is having computer problems lately and has not been able to get here to her blog or upload New kits. She ask me to come post this message from her to let you know what is happening and to please check back often because as soon as she can there will be New Stuff here. We were very busy before Easter designing a "Quick Pages Album" for you but then her computer developed problems so we have not been able to get them uploaded. As soon as her computer is up and running properly we will get the Album uploaded here for you!!! We are just so excited about the Album that we just can't wait! Keep checking back, she so appreciates each and everyone of you!
Hugs
Sally and CT Member Patti
